Flavio Serafini, born in Rome in 1997, initiated from a very young age in the study of music by Ugo Scipione, graduated with highest honors from the Conservatory of Music “Santa Cecilia” in Rome under the guidance of Deborah Kruzansky and Franz Albanese.
He attended the Alta Formazione course taught by Andrea Oliva at the “Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” in Rome and the Alto Perfezionamento course taught by Davide Formisano at the Accademia “Lorenzo Perosi” in Biella.
He then went on to specialize in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart where he brilliantly graduated under the guidance of Davide Formisano.
In 2019 he moved to Paris to study at the prestigious “Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris” in the class of Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas.
He then graduated from the “Haute Ecole de Musique” (HEM) in Geneva under the guidance of Jacques Zoon earning a master’s degree in interpretation music.
In 2023, he received a diploma of merit from the Accademia Chigiana of Siena in the class of Patrick Gallois.
For many years he has been performing all over Europe with public and critical success in such prestigious halls and theaters as KKL in Lucerne, Musikverein in Vienna, Tonhalle in Zurich, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Wilhelma Theater in Stuttgart, Liederhalle in Stuttgart, Louis de Geer Konserthall in Norrköping, Batiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva, etc.
He also performed as a soloist at the Chamber of Deputies in a concert broadcast live on Rai-TV.
He has played, as a result of passing competitions and auditions, with important orchestras such as: Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Norrköping Symfoniorkester, Orchestre Mozart Genève, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Kammerphilharmonie Mannheim, Sud-West deutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim etc.
He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as: G.Dudamel, Sir A.Pappano,T.Sokhiev, M.Sanderling, C.Dutoit, P.Steinberg, A.Manacorda, F.Biondi, R.Abbado, S.Pagliani, K.M.Chichon, K.H.Steffens, C.Rizzari, S.Genuini, R.Wien, R.Baumann, H.Pishkar, J.Bloxham, N.Venditti, G.Teychenne, H.Bäumer, C. Winnes, N.Piovani, etc.
Winner of the international Severino Gazzelloni, E.Krakamp, Manhattan Carnegie Hall competitions, he has performed in numerous music festivals including: Ravello Festival Foundation, for the Association Amici della Musica of Cagliari, for the F. Napolitano in Naples, the Festival Musicale delle Nazioni, Tropea Musica, Ama Calabria, the Malibran Academy Festival, the youth festival biellese of classical music, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Onde musicali sul Lago d’Iseo, Incontri sulla Tastiera in Vicenza, for the Filarmonica Umbra association in Terni, for the Mozart Italia association, for the Siracusana association Amici della Musica, for the Pomeriggi Musicali Veneziani, for the Villa Bertelli Foundation, etc.
After his debut in Germany, where he performed W.A. Mozart’s concerto K. 313 for flute and orchestra, accompanied by the “Voith Orchester” of Heidenheim, he began a brilliant solo activity in Italy and abroad.
Despite his concert activity, he also devotes himself to teaching and was recently invited to Spain to the Vilaseca Conservatory of Music (Catalonia) where he gave a masterclass.
His repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music.
