The first OFF-season event of the series, in collaboration with CAI – Club Alpino Italiano, sezione di Biella, presents a wonderful solo recital by Italian violinist Pietro Genova Gaia. He will perform on a very special instrument known as the “violino del mare” (violin of the sea), a remarkable violin handcrafted by inmates at the Opera prison in Milan using wood salvaged from migrant boats recovered off the coast of Lampedusa.
In the breathtaking and remote location of Rifugio Vittorio Sella, the audience will need to embark on a spectacular hike in the stunning Gran Paradiso National Park for more than 3 hours, before experiencing a truly unforgettable performance, watching the sun rising at dawn at an altitude of 2.588 meters!
