An exceptional event celebrating the convergence of two expressive worlds, uniting great music with the written word in close collaboration with the literary festival Contemporanea. On the stage of the Auditorium of Palazzo Gromo Losa in Biella, this interdisciplinary dialogue expands into a rich symphonic and soloistic journey. Enhancing this unique narrative, the musical performances will be interspersed with surprise literary texts curated by Irene Finiguerra.

Under the baton of Federico Gad Crema, the stage welcomes Swiss cellist Lena Angelina von Almen and South Korean violist Jimin Jang. The program unfolds by bridging different eras and emotions, opening with the vibrant theatrical momentum of Gaspar Cassadó’s Suite for Cello Solo (Intermezzo and Danza Finale), which weaves Iberian influences into a language of strong rhapsodic character. The dialogue then broadens to embrace the classical architectural rigor of Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony in E minor Hob.I/44 “Trauersinfonie”, delivering profound emotional depth.

The exploration continues through the lush, lyrical landscapes of Max Bruch’s Romance in F major op. 85, before diving into the rhythmic vitality of Edvard Grieg’s Holberg Suite op. 40. Dedicated to the playwright and philosopher Ludvig Holberg, the suite stands as a magnificent homage to the past, reimagined with absolute structural rigor and modernity. Finally, Ernest Bloch’s “Prayer” from Jewish Life offers an intimate spiritual meditation, delving into the psychological depths of the human soul and completing a sonic mosaic of extraordinary evocative power.
