Mozart & Silvestrov: A Tale of Remembrance

Angelica Antonini & Federico Gad Crema

Mozart & Silvestrov: A Tale of Remembrance

Biella, Auditorium Città Studi (25th September 2026, 20:00)

An emotional journey that explores the subtle and powerful thread of musical memory across centuries. Featuring soprano Angelica Antonini and the Peace Orchestra Project led by Federico Gad Crema—here in the dual role of conductor and pianist—the concert guides the audience through a seamless path of echoes, intimate confessions, and sudden storms.

The musical journey begins in the ethereal atmospheres of Valentin Silvestrov’s The Messenger. In this score, the Ukrainian composer creates an intangible bridge to the past: fragments of Mozartian melodies emerge from the silence like distant memories, floating in a suspended dimension filled with deep nostalgia.

From this contemporary echo, the performance returns to the original source with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s magnificent concert aria “Ch’io mi scordi di te?” K 505. Written for soprano and piano obbligato, the work is a sublime declaration of affection and an ode to the persistence of memory. Angelica Antonini’s voice and Federico Gad Crema’s piano intertwine in an intimate dialogue, capturing the profound expressive intensity of an immortal promise.

Concluding the evening is a striking shift in atmosphere with Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony in E minor Hob.I/44 “Trauersinfonie”. A masterpiece of the Sturm und Drang period, the symphony leaves behind neoclassical light to plunge into a vortex of dark passions and dramatic tensions. It is the culmination of an emotional arc that, born from the whisper of remembrance, ultimately explodes into the overwhelming force of inner turmoil.
