Rules & Guidelines

Applicants to the Peace Orchestra Project can be of any nationality and must be between the ages of 18 (born on or before September 14th, 2008) and 24 (born on or after September 29th, 2001) for the duration of the project.

English proficiency is strictly required of all candidates. All written and spoken communications, as well as rehearsals with coaches and conductors, are conducted entirely in English.

Successful candidates are required to sign a formal agreement with the Peace Orchestra Project Foundation, thereby committing to participate in the entire session from September 14th to September 29th 2026, and agreeing to abide by all organizational and Orchestra rules.

*Please Note: POP Orchestra musicians must arrive in Terracina (Italy) on September 14th and depart from Rome (Italy) on September 29th. Participants MUST be able to commit to this entire time period without exception.

How to apply

Applications to Oropa Music Festival’s Peace Orchestra Project must be submitted via the Official Application Form and all materials must be in English.

A video recording of your audition repertoire is mandatory. Please note that only fully completed applications will be considered and reviewed by the jury.

A complete application must include:

  • The Official Application Form
  • Passport (general national ID cards are not accepted)
  • Curriculum Vitae / Biography (describing academic, professional, and other relevant experiences)
  • Photos / Headshots (high-resolution photos to be used for marketing and promotional purposes)
  • Proof of School Attendance (a document confirming your current enrollment as a music student)
  • Audition Video Links (YouTube links to your video recordings, as outlined in the official Audition Requirements document)

Costs for accepted applicants

The Oropa Music Festival will cover all tuition fees, full board and accommodation, and all internal travel expenses during the Festival and Tour.

Please note that the Festival does NOT cover the cost of travel to and from the project. Musicians are responsible for their own travel arrangements, arriving in Terracina on September 14th and departing from Rome on September 29th.

I will be younger than 18 or older than 24. May I still apply?
Unfortunately, we do not accept applications from candidates who fall outside the stated age requirements.

You will be notified by e-mail no later than Monday June 8th 2026.

You are welcome to use sheet music for your video recording, or you may perform from memory. Neither option will impact your evaluation.

Musicians on the Reserve List are invited to join the project in the event of a cancellation. Because cancellations are unpredictable, admission is not guaranteed at a specific time and could occur up until the arrival date (September 14th, 2026).
No. To ensure a completely fair evaluation process for all candidates, you must perform the exact repertoire listed. No substitutions or changes are permitted.
