Oropa Music Festival

a humanitarian project for a new world

Founded by young concert pianist Federico Gad Crema, the Oropa Music Festival is a week-long festival at the foothills of one of the most beautiful valleys in Europe, where world-renowned soloists perform alongside internationally-acclaimed conductors with the POP Orchestra, and in new exciting chamber music ensembles.

The Festival’s Season 2025 presents unique concerts between September 11th and September 14th, in addition to two days entirely dedicated to outreach concerts for local schools. It begins with a Grand Opening Concert at the Sanctuary of Oropa, followed by exciting chamber music concerts presented to the audience every day, culminating in a Grand Closing Gala with wonderful soloists and an ensemble of the Peace Orchestra Project.

“The atmosphere is one of total equality and inclusivity: the music serves as a bridge between any and all of our differences, a language through which we can all listen and understand.” – Federico Gad Crema, Artistic Director

Home of the innovative Peace Orchestra Project, the Oropa Music Festival welcomed legendary artists such as Martha Argerich, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Marc-André Hamelin, Ricardo Castro, Francesco Piemontesi, and the shiniest of rising stars including Aubree Oliverson, Giuseppe Mengoli, Alexandra Achillea Pouta, Luca Buratto, Aleksey Shadrin and many others.

Audiences around the world can experience the magic of the Oropa Music Festival through special concert tours by the Festival’s global ambassador – our unique Peace Orchestra Project.

“A stunning location, a magical ambience, and beautiful, soul-cleansing music: a humanitarian project for a new world.” – Federico Gad Crema, Artistic Director

Peace Orchestra Project

who says classical music isn't POP?

Innovative, inspirational, and a catalyst for change in the world of music and in our society, the Peace Orchestra Project is an inclusive program founded by young concert pianist and visionary Federico Gad Crema, based on the core values of social and religious integration, using classical music as a vehicle for human development.

“There’s a real kindness here, an unparalleled humanity that goes far beyond the score” – Anne Ibos-Augé, Diapason Magazine

The Orchestra consists of accomplished young musicians between the ages of 18 and 25, from all over the globe, including talents from specific disadvantaged communities, who come together and participate in a life-changing experience.

“The main goal of this project is to give a renewed purpose to the symphonic orchestra and to use it as a platform for social transformation, peace, and integration in our society, through the power of music.” – Federico Gad Crema, Artistic Director

The humanitarian project Neojiba from Brazil and the prestigious Orchestra Giovanile Italiana are the official partner organizations of the 2023 edition.
